Post 22 says no to Olympic softball team

Last fall, the U.S. women's Olympic softball team appeared to be headed for Rapid City's Fitzgerald Stadium for a stop on its 2008 cross-country exhibition tour.
Rapid City area softball supporters had hit a home run in scheduling a July 15 exhibition game -- a star-studded softball event expected to draw thousands of spectators.
But the Olympic team hit a detour when officials for the Post 22 American Legion baseball program objected to a request by Mayor Alan Hanks to use the city owned stadium for the exhibition game.
