The bad news is that The Beanery, the downtown deli known for its soups, sandwiches and baked goods, is no longer serving lunch in its longtime location in the basement of the Fairmont Creamery.
The good news is they plan to relocate, at least according to the message on their answering machine. Sounds like they're still doing their catering and also continuing to serve meals at Western Dakota Technical Institute and Ellsworth Air Force Base.
I hope to have more details in Sunday's business column.
News of The Beanery comes on the heels of last week's announcement that the Daily Grind, another casual downtown eatery, had closed its doors. That location will reportedly become home to a new venture by Pete Franklin, former owner/chef at Delmonico Grill and Manchego, just across the street from Daily Grind.
