With wrestling matches starting in the next week and girls and boys basketball not too long after that, the winter sports season is nearly upon us.

Obviously we've got some individual wrestling champs returning and a girls basketball championship favorite in the area, along with some new coaches in places such as Custer and Sturgis, but I was wondering if there was anything that you're looking forward to this winter season or anything that would be a story you'd like to read.

Who's going to surprise some people? Who's getting overlooked?

I'll start with the Lead-Deadwood girls basketball team. From what I saw last year, they were as good as anybody in Class A outside of STM ... and they should be very good again. But nobody outside of the Hills would really know that because of the success of Spearfish and STM the past couple years.
