The South Dakota Cooperative Extension Service will host a small-grain clinic Feb. 15.

The free clinic begins at 10 a.m. CST at the Brookings County Resource Center, 824 32nd Ave., Brookings.

With spring wheat prices exceeding $10 per bushel, Extension educators and specialists have noticed an increased interest in planting spring wheat.

During the clinic, South Dakota State University Extension area marketing specialist Alan May will give an update on markets.

SDSU Soil Testing Lab manager Ron Gelderman will speak about fertility and wheat production, and Extension agronomy educator Paul Johnson will update participants on spring wheat varieties worthy of consideration.

Heather Gessner, Extension marketing and farm business management educator, will provide information on crop budgets and crop insurance.

For more information, call Paul Johnson, 605-997-2469, or the Brookings County Extension office, 605-696-8280.
