LEAD - The Salt Lake City office of Dynatec Mining Co. is hiring crews for shaft rehabilitation and pump installation work at the Homestake Mine, proposed site of the Sanford Underground Science and Engineering Laboratory.

Dynatec, which submitted the winning bid for the underground work associated with the second phase of a three-phase re-entry plan, is beginning work now. The mine was closed in 2003. Positions are posted with the South Dakota Department of Labor Career Centers.

"I encourage people with Homestake Mine experience to apply for the positions available with Dynatec," said Dave Snyder, executive director of the South Dakota Science and Technology Authority, which is responsible for the laboratory project.

The company is looking for mining engineers, construction miners, mechanics, welders, pipe fitters and office workers.

To apply, register at www.sdjobs.org or visit the local Career Center. The office in Lead, in the Smart Center at 308 Julius St., is open Mondays and Wednesdays from noon until 4 p.m. The phone number is 584-1361.
