In Tribute To Larry Thovson
April 8, 1948 – Oct. 29, 2015
The Righteous Pass Away. The Godly often die before their time. And no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come. For the Godly who die will rest in peace. (Isaiah 57:1 NLT)
The fog is lifting and tears are flowing. I was blessed to be Larry’s wife for 16 years. I saw the love and compassion shown to Larry by Black Hills Works co-workers who came and said their good-byes at the hospital before Larry passed away.
Larry would always give a smile and kind word to everyone that he met. Larry was an avid golfer, skier, bicycle rider, hiker, animal lover and deer/elk hunter. I also found that members of the Black Hills Volkssport Association showed their respect for Larry and attended Black Hills Hospice House Tree of Lights Services with me in December.
Larry was a Boy Scout member and achieved Eagle Scout in 1964. There will be volksmarch (5K/10K) in Nemo on Saturday, July 16, to honor and remember Larry as he was on staff at Old Camp Broadaxe in 1964-1965. Larry had a special place in his heart for Nemo and was point of contact for several volksmarches in Nemo throughout the years.
Three months have passed but this is my way to show tribute to Larry. Serenity Springs Funeral Chapel website has the complete obituary and a place to write comments.
Rest in Peace. I miss you.
Reta Your Lena and Valentine.
