District 2B

GROTON - Redfield dominated the District 2B wrestling tournament Saturday winning with 198.5 points. Ipswich finished second with 141.5 points and Miller came in third with 136.5.

Redfield, Ipswich and Faulkton will each send 10 or more wrestlers to the Region 1B tournament in Webster next Saturday.

Miller will send eight, Highmore and Groton will each send four and Aberdeen Roncalli will send three.

District 6B

BURKE - Kimball won the District 6B wrestling tournament with 193.5 points Saturday and advanced 11 wrestlers to the Region 3B tournament in Wessington Springs next Saturday.

Plankinton-White Lake-Mt. Vernon came in second with 139 points and Gregory claimed third with 10-4 points.

Plankinton will send 10 wrestlers to the regional tournament, Burke will send eight, Gregory and Chamberlain six each, and Platte and Wessington Springs-Woonsocket five apiece.

District 7B

PHILIP - Philip took the District 7B wrestling championships with a team score of 145. Lyman came in second with 136 points.

The Scotties advanced 10 wrestlers to the Region 4B tournament in Pierre next Saturday. The top wrestlers in each weight class advance to the regional tournament.

Philip finished the tournament with three champions and seven top four finishes. Jonathan Williams won the 152-pound weight class, undefeated Alex Radway conquered 160, and Adam Rislov won at 189.

Lyman also advanced 10 wrestlers to the regional tournament, including two champions. Blaine Brakke won at 112 pounds and Beau Johnson took home the heavyweight title.

Stanley County advanced nine wrestlers, Wall-Kadoka and St. Thomas More each send seven, Bennett County five and Red Cloud four.

District 8B

FAITH - Harding County advanced 10 wrestlers to the Region 4B tournament with a 159.5 point team performance in the District 8B tournament Saturday.

The top four wrestlers from each weight class advance to the regional tournament.

Mobridge was second in the tournament with 134 points. Lemmon finished third with 103 points.

The Tigers will send nine wrestlers to the regionals, Lemmon will send eight, Hoven, Gettysburg and Newell advance six, Faith five and Sully Buttes two.

The Region 4B tournament will take place in Pierre next Saturday.
