Through Dec. 1: Original compositions ofFrederico Vigil, are on exhibit in the Apex Gallery at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology.  Vigil, is often referred to as the "Michelangelo of New Mexico." In 2014 Vigil traveled to Albuquerque, Spain, to create a fresco at the Salon De Plenos (city hall). This gallery showing includes work from this landmark sister city project. Vigil will present at lecture at 6 p.m. Nov. 16 at the South Dakota Public Broadcasting's West River Bureau office at 415 Main St. An artists reception will be held Nov. 17 at the Apex Gallery on the SDSM&T campus.

High tea tickets on sale

Tickets are now on sale for the Matthews Opera House's annual Holiday High Tea.

The popular event will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 9 in the Matthew's Theater.

The popular holiday event attracts people of all ages and genders. Many participants like to wear a favorite hat. In addition to tea there will be homemade pastries, tea sandwiches, and for an extra cost, mulled wine. The event also will include a silent auction.

Tickets are $25 per seat, and will be available until they run out. Tickets must be purchased by Dec. 5. To order , stop at the gallery during business hours, call 605-642-7973 or go online to matthewsopera.com.

'A Madrigal Dinner' returns 

Tickets are now on sale for the annual “A Madrigal Dinner” presented by the Black Hills State University Music Department.

Three evenings of food, music and theatrical entertainment will be offered beginning at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 30, and Dec. 1 and 2 in Meier Hall on the BHSU campus. Tickets are $45 each, and include a meal of maple brie and cheddar apple soup, whole roasted turkey with citrus rosemary salad, wild rice stuffing and figgy pudding.

The Renaissance event is a fundraiser for the music department.
