OUTDOORS

Until April 10: Adventures in Nature. Children can explore the world around them through the Wind Cave National Park’s Adventures in Nature programs, offered at the park every other Tuesday through April 10. Registration begins at 9:45 a.m., with programs running from 10 a.m. to noon. Parents/guardians are encouraged to provide their children with a snack before the program. Until Feb. 16: "The Mining Aesthetic," featuring photographs, drawings and artifacts by Montana artist Glenn Bodish. Apex Gallery on the campus of South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, Rapid City. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday during the school year.

Feb. 24: "Constellation." Mini-exhibit with photos, storyboards, a free take-home packet and a touchscreen quiz about constellations, with special emphasis on Lakota culture star knowledge. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tri-State Museum, 415 Fifth Ave., Belle Fourche.

Feb. 17, 5 p.m.: Skates and a Movie. Watch "Deep," about a playful octopus who gets his undersea fish colony in trouble and is ordered to find help. Joined by his splashy friends — a sassy shrimp and a silly anglerfish — Deep takes a colorful, perilous journey through submerged cities and sunken ships, where he meets outrageous creatures and formidable foes. Feb. 18, 7:15 p.m.: Nostalgia Night Film Series. This week's film is “Raiders of the Lost Ark," starring Harrison Ford in the 1981 adventure that launched the Indiana Jones franchise. Cost: $50 for season passes, $7.50 per individual ticket. ANNOUNCEMENTS

Quilt show entries due

March and April will feature the eighth annual quilt show, sponsored by the Sturgis Area Arts Council, at the Sturgis Public Library. The show will be open for viewing during the library's regular hours. Viewers can vote for their favorite quilt in the Viewer's Choice Award. Because space is limited, no quilts larger than full size will be accepted. Each quilter may enter up to two items in the show. Quilts must be taken to the library by Feb. 28.
