Taste of the Hills helps community fight breast cancer one bite at a time
Second annual event to be held Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. at Main Street Square
Get ready to get sticky. The second annual Taste of the Hills barbecue festival raising funds to fight breast cancer, returns to Main Street Square from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7.
The event is hosted by Susan G. Komen Great Plains with the support of many local sponsors.
Tickets are on sale now for $20 per person and may be purchased at komengreatplains.org. A limited number of tickets will be available onsite at the event.
A ticket includes barbecue pork sliders featuring sauces from local chefs, side dishes and dessert. After sampling barbecue from participating chefs, event-goers can vote for their favorite sauce.

In addition to the food, the event also includes raffle drawings and entertainment from Crash Wagon.
Susan G. Komen is the world’s largest breast cancer organization, funding breast cancer research and providing assistance to those suffering from the disease. Komen has set a goal to reduce the current number of U.S. breast cancer deaths by 50 percent by 2026.
Komen was founded in 1982 by Nancy G. Brinker, who promised her sister, Susan G. Komen, that she would end the disease that claimed Susan's life.
