Singles feast

Saturday Night Alive Singles will hold a Low Country Boil at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at Darcie's house, 3931 Maple Ave. A Low Country Boil is a Southern seafood feast with shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn on the cob. Participants should bring a lawn chair or folding chair. There will be a donation box to help cover food costs.

Piedmont service

The public is invited to attend Unity of the Black Hills Chapel, 10112 Walnut St. in Piedmont, at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 10. The Rev. Barbara Jung, a visiting guest minister, will share a lesson titled "Living By Spiritual Insight."

Prayer Breakfast

The Rapid City Area Community is invited to attend the 18th annual Education Prayer Breakfast at 7 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at Golden Corral Buffet Restaurant. Participants will pray together for teachers, principals, school staff and students. The Rev. Ron Jensen will give a special message, and special music will be performed.

New senior pastor

The Rev. Steven Selfridge will be formally installed as the new senior pastor at First Wesleyan Church. The ceremony will be held during the 9 a.m. worship service Sunday, Aug. 17, at the church, 202 E. St. Francis St. A picnic will follow the service at Robbinsdale Park, with drinks and a main course provided.

Silver City services

The Rev. Millard Seaman will lead services at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, at Sacred Heart Community Chapel in Silver City. Refreshments and fellowship will follow. The public is invited.

Chapel services

The Rev. Doug Clark from Nisland Community Church will lead services at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, at Rochford Chapel. Fellowship will follow the service.

JustFaith workshop

Our Lady of the Black Hills parish in Piedmont will host a JustFaith introductory workshop from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6. The day will begin with Mass at 8 a.m., followed by the workshop. Jack Jezreel, the founder and director of JustFaith, will present the theological tradition on which JustFaith is based, stories about the impact of JustFaith and instructions on how parishes can implement the program.
