Pumpkin Patch Bash set for Oct. 31
RAPID CITY - Canyon Lake United Methodist Church, 3500 Canyon Lake Drive, will hold its sixth annual Pumpkin Patch Bash from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at the church.
There will be an evening meal for a donation, carnival games, a puppet show, trick-or-treating and Christian fellowship. Costumes are welcome; adults must accompany children. For more information, call 348-1080 or go to www.clumc.com.
Rimrock hosting free Kids Karnival on Oct. 31
RAPID CITY - Rimrock Church will host a free Kids Karnival from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31. There will be a jumping castle and carnival-type games. Kids may come in costume if they wish. The church is at 12200 W. Highway 44, 10 miles west of Canyon Lake.
Hallelujah Party for kids, families set for Oct. 29
RAPID CITY - First Christian Church, 730 Quincy St., will host a Hallelujah Party on Wednesday, Oct. 29, for families with children from 2 years old through fifth grade. Events include a free supper from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Kids and families can enjoy playing carnival games with candy prizes, pumpkin and cookie decorating and a cake walk from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Students in grades 6-12 also are invited to test their skills at an obstacle course, apple bobbing and numerous other games from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Kids and parents are welcome to come dressed in costumes that are appropriate for a Christian festival. Children who attend must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Zion Lutheran plans All Saints Eve event
RAPID CITY - Zion Lutheran Church in Rapid City will celebrate All Saints Eve, a Halloween alternative, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31. There will be fun, safe activities with lots of candy available. The church is at 4550 S. Highway 16, under the water tower. All are welcome.
Countryside starting a third Sunday service
SPEARFISH - Countryside Community Church, 625 Woodland Drive in Spearfish, will begin offering a third Sunday service on Nov. 2. Services will be at 8:05 a.m., 9:40 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. The children's ministry will not be offered at the 8:05 a.m. service.
Christian music concert will be Oct. 26

Saturday Night Alive hosting Fall Fling
RAPID CITY - Saturday Night Alive Singles will hold a Fall Fling at 7 p.m. today, Oct. 25, at Christian Life Ministries, 1948 N. Plaza Drive. Participants will be divided into teams and given a digital camera with a list of pictures they should try to take with their group.
The pictures will be assigned different point values. After about an hour, each team will return to Christian Life Ministries for picture judging based on points and creativity. Winners will receive a special prize. All are welcome to participate.
Public invited to Oct. 26 turkey dinner
RAPID CITY - Rapid Valley United Methodist Church, 5103 Longview Drive, will hold a turkey dinner from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26. Cost is $7 for people age 13 and older, $4 for ages 5-12 and free to children age 4 and younger. The public is welcome.
Song of Solomon study starting today
RAPID CITY - The Southside Church of Christ, 1302 E. Fairmont Blvd., is presenting a series of lessons on "The Greatest Love Song Written: A Study of the Song of Solomon" starting at 7 p.m. today, Oct. 25. Jeffrey Hamilton of Omaha, Neb., will lead the series.
The series will meet each day through Tuesday, Oct. 28, and lessons will cover many aspects of courtship, marriage, issues about sex and love and building a life together as a couple.
There will be a cappella singing at 6 p.m. today before the lesson.

Tuesday Ladies Salad Luncheon set for Oct. 28
RAPID CITY - Matthew Baker will be the guest speaker at the Tuesday Ladies Salad Luncheon on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 402 Kansas City St. The intergenerational time of fellowship begins with music at 11:45 a.m., lunch at noon and the program at 12:30 p.m. Cost of lunch is $3 or bring a salad to share.

St. Andrew's to welcome its new members
RAPID CITY - St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 910 Soo San Drive, will welcome new members during the 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. services this Sunday, Oct. 26. The Rev. Kathy Monson Lutes will preside.
Coffee hour will start at 11:15 a.m. and will be a reception for the new members, as well as a social time for all attending.
The church is hosting the United Campus Ministries dinner at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27.
Faith, family, freedom banquet set for Oct. 30
RAPID CITY - The South Dakota Family Policy Council will present the "Fire Up For Faith, Family and Freedom Banquet" at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at South Canyon Baptist Church. The event's focus is to raise awareness and support for the West River SDFPC ministry.
The keynote speaker will be Tom Minnery, senior vice president of government and public policy for Focus on the Family. Minnery has been a church elder for many years and the recipient of several recognition awards from local civic and church groups. He and his family live in Colorado Springs, Colo.

KEYSTONE - Keystone United Church of Christ will hold its annual buffalo dinner at noon Sunday, Oct. 26, at the church.
Slow-roasted buffalo, mashed potatoes and gravy, hot rolls, cranberry sauce, cole slaw and homemade pie will be served. The public is welcome.
Hammond will speak about trip to India
RAPID CITY - Pat Hammond will talk about her mission trip to India at 1 p.m. today, Oct. 25, at the Presbyterian Women Fall Gathering at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1012 Soo San Drive. Hammond will discuss how she and four friends helped at Rehab's Rope Women Center, a safe house in Bangalore, India, for young girls and women who have been rescued from human trafficking.
The public is welcome to attend.
Building blocks of faith the topic of telecast
RAPID CITY - The Rev. Randy Sturzenbecher from Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church in Black Hawk will be the featured speaker for the "Main Street Living" morning worship telecast on Sunday, Oct. 26.
The sermon theme is "The Basic Building Blocks of Faith." The Main Street Living Choir will sing. The program, which is interpreted for the hearing impaired, can be seen at 9 a.m. on KEVN.
