Organ recital
Wyatt Smith, who will be a senior at Luther Prepatory School in Watertown, Wis., will present an organ recital at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, at First Presbyterian Church, 710 Kansas City St. Smith is from Rapid City and began his organ study here with Mary Free. He now studies with Bethel Zabell at Luther Prep and has been working this summer with Marylou Torrey. Last summer, Smith represented the Black Hills Chapter of the American Guild of Organists in the Young Artist Competition at the regional convention in Lincoln, Neb.

Guest speaker
Joan Hunter of Joan Hunter Ministries of Kingwood, Texas, will be guest speaker at the 6 p.m. praise service Sunday, July 27, at Hot Springs United Churches.
The author of "The Whole Man and Healing the Heart," Hunter will speak on the healing power of God, setting people free spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally and financially. The public is welcome to attend.
Rochford Chapel
The Rev. Bruce Adams from Lead Trinity Methodist Church will lead services at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at Rochford Chapel. Fellowship will follow the service.
Chapel in the Hills
The Rev. Ken Dugan will lead vesper services for the week of July 27-Aug. 2 at Chapel in the Hills in Rapid City. Services are held daily at 7:30 p.m.
Main Street Living
The Main Street Living program's featured speaker for Sunday, July 27, is the Rev. Ben Ricker from Bethel Lutheran Church, Round Lake, Minn. The program is at 9:30 a.m. on KEVN-FOX. The sermon theme is "Is It Worth It?" The Main Street Living Choir will sing. The program will be interpreted for the deaf.
Silver City services
Worship will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 27, at the Sacred Heart Silver City Community Chapel
in Silver City. Brian Lane will officiate. All are welcome to attend the nondenominational service. Fellowship and refreshments will follow.
Children of Uganda lecture
The Rev. John Lule will present a lecture on the children of Uganda at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 31, in the Great Room at Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rapid City. The lecture will describe in detail the day-to-day lifestyle, play and education of the children of Uganda. He also will discuss the present life of the "Lost Children of Uganda" of 20 years ago, and their resilience to civil war, abduction, child soldiering, slavery and HIV/AIDS.
The lecture is free. The public is welcome.
Poetry contest offers prize money
A $1,000 grand prize will be offered in a poetry contest sponsored by the Christian Fine Arts Society. The society will award 50 prizes totaling $4,000, including the $1,000 grand prize.
