Liturgy of Thanksgiving

Sister Elaine Herold and Sister Karen Rolene will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their religious professions at a 1:30 p.m. Liturgy of Thanksgiving on Sunday, July 20, at their motherhouse in Omaha, Neb. Both women served in the Rapid City Diocese.

Herold served at Our Lady of Lourdes in Porcupine from 1961 to 1976. Rolene served at Our Lady of Lourdes from 1966 to 1972.

Youth choir concert

"Alive," a high school youth choir from Vista Grande Baptist Church in Colorado Springs, Colo., will perform at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, in the Mount Rushmore National Memorial amphitheater. The public is welcome.

Vacation Bible schools

y Nemo Community Church will hold vacation Bible school from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 14-18. The school is for children from preschool through sixth grade. For more information, call Pastor Nick Rombough at 341-5729.

y Hills View E Free, Piedmont, will hold vacation Bible school from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, June 24-26, in Piedmont Park. Participants will take a "Serengeti Trek" each night; supper is included. The school is for children from kindergarten through sixth grade. Chapel in the Hills

The Rev. Bob Waite will preside at evening vesper services for the week of June 22-28 at Chapel in the Hills in Rapid City. Services begin at 7:30 p.m. each evening.

Community yard sale

Lord of Life Lutheran Church will hold a community yard sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 21. The church is across from the Copperfield housing area west of Green Tree off Concourse Drive.

Oasis events

Oasis, an area young adult ministry, will hold two events in the coming week.

On Tuesday, June 24, there will be a Bible study at 7 p.m. at Darcie's, 3931 Maple Ave.

Rochford Chapel

The Rev. Jon Mapa, from Atonement Lutheran Church in Rapid City, will lead services at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at Rochford Chapel. Fellowship follows the service. The public is invited.

Saturday Night Alive

Members of Saturday Night Alive will meet at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 27-28, at Prairie Edge in downtown Rapid City to enjoy activities during the Festival of Presidents event. Bring a lawn chair. For more information, call Lisa at 484-0773.

Fountain Springs Community Church, 2100 N. Plaza Drive in Rapid City, will have softball and kickball games from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at the church.
