New pastor
Emmanual Episcopal Church in Rapid City held an installation ceremony for the Rev. Richard Ressler on April 27. Ressler, who was born and raised in Minnesota, was serving at St. James Episcopal Church in Oklahoma City before coming to Rapid City. He and his wife, Gayle, have two grown sons.
Catholic Daughters
Catholic Daughters will hold its annual Mother & Daughter Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 10, in the main hall of St. Therese Church in Rapid City. Sister Pohl will entertain. Cost is $6, and all are welcome.
Mother's Day festival
Hope Lutheran Church, 913 34th St. in Spearfish, will host "Women of Noble Character," a special Mother's Day festival service, at 9 a.m. Sunday, May 11. The music, lessons, prayers and sermon will thank God for the blessings He provides through mothers. All moms will receive a special gift. All are welcome. For more information, call 722-3857.
Sunday breakfast
The Men's Group of Rapid City First United Methodist Church will hold First Sunday Breakfast on May 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the church fellowship hall. A freewill offering will be received to benefit Randy Welch, who is scheduled for a kidney transplant in May. The public is welcome. For more information, call 342-4498.
Prayer workshop
A Centering Prayer Immersion Experience, including five 20-minute periods of prayer separated by meditative walks, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 24, in Benedict Hall at St. Martin Monastery. Participants are welcome to stay for as much of the session as possible. Refreshments will be served, and walk-ins are welcome. Seniors in Action
A free lunch and entertainment for all area senior citizens will be at noon Thursday, May 15, at Open Bible Christian Center, 2225 E. St. Patrick St. Attendees are asked to respond at 342-4496.
Quartet performance
The Living Hope Quartet will present a free concert at 6:45 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at First Christian Church, 730 Quincy St. in Rapid City. The members of the quartet are from Rapid City and Kearney, Neb. They will perform inspirational songs as well as lead a hymn sing-along. The public is invited to attend this free event.
New ministers
First Christian Church, 730 Quincy St. in Rapid City, has added two new leaders to its ministry staff. Steffen Rampelberg was affirmed in April as the new minister of programming and worship arts. He leads adult Sunday worship services. Kelly Keim also recently joined the ministry team as early childhood director for nursery through preschool-age children.
