Real Estate Broker Services

The City of Sturgis is seeking proposals from real estate brokers/firms to sell real

property owned by the City of Sturgis located at Exit 32 in Sturgis. The City of Sturgis

desires to sell certain real property for development purposes. Any future development

must positively contribute to the Vanocker Canyon/Exit 32 Commercial Corridor. The

Development must create jobs, increase the City tax base, and must be fully taxable in


It is the intent of this Request for Proposal (RFP) to have the successful broker/firm,

enter into a Professional Services Contract with the City to supply real estate services

The proposal must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “Real Estate Broker

Services” to the City Finance office, 1040 Second Street, Sturgis, SD 57785 on or

before 3:00 pm on Friday, April 26, 2013 at which time they will be publically opened

and read. The proposals will then be forwarded to the Sturgis City Manager for review

and selection. The Applicants are responsible for ensuring that their proposal, however

submitted, is received on time and at the location specified.

To be considered, firms must submit a complete response to the RFP in the form

requested. Firms not responding to items requested in the RFP or indicating exceptions to such

items may have their submittals rejected.

The City of Sturgis reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, or any parts

thereof, or to waive any informality or defect in any bid if it is in the best interest of the

City of Sturgis.

All proposals, plans, and other documents submitted shall be the

property of the City of Sturgis. Responses to this RFP are considered public

information and are subject to discovery under the Freedom of Information Act.
