First Chris Daughtry, then Kellie Pickler, and now Amanda Overmyer.
"American Idol" returns to annual Sturgis motorcycle rally this year when Season 7 finalist Amanda Overmyer will perform at the Full Throttle Saloon on Aug. 6 and 7.
Fellow "American Idol" alumnus Chris Daughtry performed at the rally in 2007.
Overmyer is best remembered for her raspy voice and her penchant for riding motorcycles when she was a finalist on the seventh season of the popular reality-entertainment show on FOX. The stop at the Full Throttle will be part of her western United States tour that includes stops in South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and California.
The rally will be Overmyer's second big biker event at which she performed; she appeared at the Harley-Davidson 105th Celebration last year in Milwaukee.
This year, she will be performing at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, and Friday, Aug. 7. The Full Throttle is 3 miles east of Sturgis.
