Meade County authorities arrested Casey James Stout after a Black Hawk neighborhood was evacuated Sunday evening.
Stout, 24, of 4907 Saratoga Drive, was arrested peacefully at his home several hours after he had a disagreement with a neighbor, according to Tom Wilts, chief deputy for the Meade County Sheriff’s Office.
The Pennington County/Rapid City Special Response Team was called to assist after the neighbor reported that Stout had a weapon.
The neighborhood was evacuated to ensure the safety of the community, Wilts said.
The special response team arrived about 5 p.m. Stout surrendered to officers about 9:30 p.m., according to Rapid City Police Lt. James Johns. He was not armed when he was taken into custody.
Stout is charged with aggravated assault, Wilts said.
