Duke University basketball coach Mike "Coach K" Krzyzewski is slated as the speaker for the John T. Vucurevich Foundation's annual speaker series, according to a news release from the foundation.
The event will be at 7:30 p.m. April 29 at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center theater.
In his 29th year as head coach of the Duke Blue Devils, Krzyzewski is a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame.
Krzyzewski has led Duke to three NCAA championships, 10 Final Four appearances and 12 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships. He has the most wins of any active college coach, with an NCAA record of 69 tournament wins while averaging 25 wins per season. Krzyzewski was named coach of the year 12 times and coach of the decade for the 1990s by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
He also coached the 2008 U.S. men's national team to an Olympic gold medal and will direct Team USA in the 2010 World Championships in Turkey and the 2012 Olympics in London.
In addition to coaching, he authored two books: "Beyond Basketball: Coach K's Keywords for Success" and "The Gold Standard: Building a World-Class Team."
