Car enthusiasts, concerts fill Deadwood

DEADWOOD - Kool Deadwood Nites continues through Sunday, Aug. 24, in Deadwood.

Car registration and an owners-only barbecue are from noon to 7 p.m. today at the Deadwood Gulch Resort Convention Center. Concerts include the Kid and Nic Show, DD and the Fayrohs and Herman's Hermits starring Peter Noone. The free shows start at 5 p.m. on Main Street.

On Saturday, Aug. 23, car registration will be from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the convention center. Classic car competition and judging begins at 8 a.m. at the Days of '76 Rodeo Grounds/Ferguson Field. Judging concludes at noon. A poker run will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a party at the Comfort Inn at Gulches of Fun. Free concerts begin at 5 p.m., featuring the Kid and Nic Show, DD and the Fayrohs, The Bay City Rollers with Ian Mitchell, and Bo Donaldson of the Heywoods.

On Sunday, Aug. 24, a parade will line up at 7 a.m. at the Days of '76 Rodeo Grounds. After the parade, a show and shine held will be at the History and Information Center parking lot. Awards will be given at 11 a.m.
