GILLETTE, Wyo. -- A man accused of smashing into at least 10 vehicles at a Gillette dealership, ramming one of them into a building and causing thousands of dollars in damage before driving away from the scene has pleaded not guilty.

Alfredo Ortega was arraigned in District Court this week for felony destruction of property stemming from the August episode. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.

Prosecutors say Ortega tried to drive between two vehicles at Roadrunner Auto when he accidentally hit one of them. They say Ortega then hit several more vehicles as he was trying to flee, pushing one vehicle into the building. The damage was estimated at $80,000.

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement office has also placed a hold on a Ortega.
