As Youth and Family Services gears up for the 15th Annual YFS Kids Fair, officials are looking for adults and teenagers interested in volunteering for the three day event.
Volunteers 13 and older are being sought to work one or more 4-hour shifts on one, two or all three days of the Kids Fair. The event runs 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, April 16, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 17, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 18.
"It's a great way to show your community spirit and provide a great experience for children in our area," Steve Merrill, YFS development director, said in a news release. "Last year, approximately 230 volunteers teamed up with YFS staff to ensure the more than 10,770 children and their families who attended enjoyed themselves."
Those interested in volunteering can call Merrill at 342-4195, or go to www.youthandfamilyservices.org and select the "Kids Fair" pull-down menu. Click on "Volunteer" to download a volunteer sign-up form. Requests can also be sent by e-mail to smerrill@youthandfamilyservices.org.
