Thirty-six South Dakota National Guard troops from a Rapid City-based unit are no longer expected to deploy to Iraq and Kuwait.

The four nine-member Logistics Maintenance Advisory Teams from the 109th Regional Support Group received a notification in October that they could be deployed next year. The October "sourcing" notification was made to allow the teams time to prepare for a possible mobilization, according to a Guard news release.

This week, the teams got a "de-sourcing" notification from Army headquarters.

The teams, which provide coaching, training and mentorship to host nation logistics forces and provide direct access to coalition resources, have not received any other notifications for other possible overseas deployments.
