The 29th annual Black Hills Bluegrass Festival will be Friday, June 26, through Sunday, June 28, at Mystery Mountain Resort on U.S. Highway 16 south of Rapid City.

Musical performers include The Martins, Midnight Flight, GreenMan, Chuck Suchy and the Black Hills Bluegrass Band. The Black Hills in Motion Cloggers also will perform.

In addition to musical entertainment, the festival will include workshops in music, songwriting and clogging, plein air painters and traditional arts demonstrations.

The Martins is a family bluegrass group that won the SPGMA International Band Championship 2007 and Instrumental Group of the Year 2004-07.

Midnight Flight brings its traditional bluegrass from the Ozarks with vocal harmonies and a touch of humor. The Missouri-based band performed at the festival in 2006. Midnight Flight won the SPGMA Midwest Traditional Bluegrass Band of the Year in 2006 and 2007 and the Single Mic Championship in 2007.

GreenMan Band plays the traditional music of Ireland, Wales, Scotland and Brittany. The group melds those traditional influences with contemporary arrangements.

Chuck Suchy is a working farmer born and raised in the blue hills along the Missouri River near Mandan, N.D. His songs portray American farm life.
