The Chambers of Commerce across the state of South Dakota are experiencing advertising sales scams, according to a news release from the Rapid City Area Chamber of Commerce.

A group called Premier Map was in Mobridge several weeks ago claiming to be the official sales team for the Yellowstone Trail Guide. The same company is currently calling businesses in Aberdeen trying to sell ads for the official city guide.

The Yankton Area Chamber of Commerce has encountered several scams that have had the chambers name attached to them.

The Rapid City Area Chamber of Commerce advises Rapid City businesses to be aware of the scam and to remember that if someone states a program is being endorsed by the local chamber, it would have been mentioned in the monthly Investment Report, on the web site and through local media.

Contact the chamber at 343-1744 if you suspect or experience and situations that are questionable.
