Two children were pronounced dead at the scene of a rollover Friday on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, and a 1-year-old was taken to the hospital, after a Texas woman lost control of her vehicle.

According to tribal police, the children were not wearing seat belts.

Their mother, Erica Reyes of Amarillo, Texas, was also taken by ambulance to the Pine Ridge hospital; her condition and the condition of the 1-year-old were unknown at news deadline, according to Police Chief Everette Little Whiteman of the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety.

Alcohol was not involved, Little Whiteman said. He said more information about the crash would be available Monday, Aug. 30.
