PIERRE – Gov. Mike Rounds asked that all flags in the state be flown at half-staff Saturday in honor of former South Dakota state Rep. Royal “Bud” Wood of Warner, who died Nov. 19.

“Bud Wood was a distinguished legislator who served his district with pride for 26 years,” Rounds said in a news release. “We extend our condolences to his family.”

Wood served from 1967 to 1992 in the South Dakota House. He was speaker of the House during the 1989-1990 legislative sessions.
