RAPID CITY — John E. Brick, 84, Rapid City, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at Rapid City Regional Hospital Auxiliary Hospice House.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Brick, Rapid City; a daughter, Enola “Edie” Gorham-Smith, Centennial, Colo.; four grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two stepgrandchildren.

Rosalinda ‘Linda’ Dougherty
RAPID CITY — Rosalinda “Linda” Dougherty, 60, Rapid City, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at Rapid City Regional Hospital Auxiliary Hospice House.
Survivors include her husband, Tom Dougherty and a son, Brian Dougherty, both of Rapid City; two daughters, Susan Rodriquez, Portland, Ore., and Lindsey Dougherty, Paso Robles, Calif.; four grandchildren; her parents, Patrick and Lucy Fahey, Rapid City; three brothers, Bob Fahey and Mike Fahey, both of Oahu, Hawaii, and Jim Fahey, Rapid City; and three sisters, Suzanne Cox, Las Vegas, and Mary McCambridge and Trisha Fahey, both of Rapid City.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, at Edstrom & Rooks
Funeral Services at Serenity Springs, Chapel of Tranquility, with the Rev. Donnie Williams officiating.

Daryl Grabow
BLACK HAWK — Daryl Grabow, 62, Black Hawk, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include two sons, Scott Grabow, Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Todd Grabow, Hill City; three grandchildren; two sisters, JoAnn Brewer, Rapid City, and Shirley Elder, Emerado, N.D.; and two brothers, David Grabow, Oslo, Minn., and Wayne Grabow, Milbank.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. CST Monday, Nov. 16, at Emanuel-Patterson Funeral Home in Milbank, and for one hour before services at the church.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank, with the Rev. Keith Bicknase officiating.

HOT SPRINGS — Sandra Kay Hansen, 69, Hot Springs, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at Fall River Hospital.
Survivors include three children, Scott Hansen, Baltic, Kimberly Barber, Las Vegas, and Kristine Stevens, Chadron, Neb.; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Diane Schrader, Ridott, Ill., and Susan Solheim, Freeport, Ill.

MEADOW — Kathy M. Kolb, 48, Meadow, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger, N.D.
Survivors include her husband, Shane, and two sons, Justin and Wil, all of Meadow; her mother and father, Leonard and LaVonne Nygaard, Scranton, N.D.; two sisters, Nancy Teigen, Bowman, N.D., and Lori Jenkins, Scranton; and her mother-in-law, Pat Kolb, Bison.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon, and from 5:30 p.m. to
7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Bison.
Visitation will continue from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Bison School Gymnasium, with services at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Brian Fawcett and the Rev. Mary Peterson officiating.

Raymond R. Koskela
RAPID CITY — Raymond R. Koskela, 94, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at his daughter’s home in Rapid City.
He was born in a log cabin in Englewood, the son of Finnish immigrant parents, Matt and Annie (Johnson) Koskela, on Sept. 21, 1915. He lived most of his life in the Black Hills. He attended and graduated from the eighth grade at the Roubaix School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on April 8, 1942, to join the war effort and fight for his country. He served in the Pacific Theatre earning multiple decorations and citations. After his discharge from the Army, he lived and worked for a short time in Los Angeles, Calif., before returning to live in the Black Hills.
He met and married his wife of 54 years, Ida Mary Anderson on Aug. 17, 1947, while she was teaching at Custer Peak School. They had three children, a son Ronald (Carol) of Oceanside, Calif.; and twins, daughter Debra (Daniel) Brandt, Rapid City, and son Randall who died at two weeks of age.
He worked as an auto mechanic, at one time owning his own service station in Deadwood. He joined the National Guard in Deadwood and helped fight the Deadwood fire in August 1959 before his discharge two years later in July 1961. He worked for many years as a journeyman/lineman retiring at age 63 from Black Hills Power and Light Company.
Ray loved horses and enjoyed riding until he was 74 years old. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had an incredible sense of humor and will be sorely missed by all that loved him.
He is survived by his two children and their spouses; granddaughters, Holly Goodman and her husband Nathan of Bozeman, Mont., and Michelle Brandt and her fiance Kyle Nagle, of Littleton, Colo.; his brother and sister-in-law, Elmer and Vera Koskela, Nikiski, Alaska; sister, Linda Jeffreys, Portland, Ore., area; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ida Mary; infant son, Randall; five sisters, Hilea Fuller, Lillian Rantapaa, Minnie Clowser, Lydia Johnson and Hazel Billings; and one brother, Benhart Koskela.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at Kirk Funeral Home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, at the funeral home, with Pastor Brent Woodard officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
A memorial has been established to the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary, P.O. Box 998, Hot Springs, SD 57747.

GILLETTE, Wyo. — Sandra Kay Kost, 68, Gillette, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Kost, Gillette; her children, Robbin Spring, Union Center, S.D., Loren Bruse, Sturgis, S.D., Ann Klein, Gillette, and Christina Harter, Rapid City, S.D.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janice Weimer, Sturgis, and Connie Fawcett, Ree Heights, S.D.; a brother, Marc Weimer, Spearfish, S.D.; and two stepdaughters, Debbie Kost, Sturgis, and Valerie Jorensen, Texas.

RAPID CITY — Kyle Wade Marrowbone Maldacker, 23, Rapid City and formerly of Eagle Butte, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, in Rapid City, as the result of an automobile accident.
An all-night wake will begin with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Eagle Butte.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, at the church. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Episcopal Cemetery in Thunder Butte.
