The state Department of Transportation is set to commence work on a bridge on Highway 44 near Magic Canyon west of Rapid City.
The work will begin today, according to a release by the state; it is scheduled to conclude June 22. The project includes a deck overlay, modifications to the bridge rails and the installation of a chain link fence.
Heavy Constructors Inc. of Rapid City is the main contractor for the $474,000 project.
In other roadwork, Highways 87 and 89 between Highway 16 and 385, (also known as Sylvan Lake Road) will see milling and paving that began Saturday. That project is slated to finish up by June 28. Drivers should expect delays.
