Parents or guardians can receive a free child-identification kit by participating in the South Dakota Child Identification Program between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday at the Game, Fish & Parks Outdoor Campus at 4130 Adventure Trail in Rapid City.

The South Dakota Child Identification Program is part of MASONICHIP, an initiative of the Masons of North America that creates a complete package of various identifying items of children for their parents or guardians.

The collected information includes dental impressions, a DNA cheek swab, digital still photo, fingerprints and a video interview. The information is then given to parents at no charge.
