A workshop will be held Monday in Custer to discuss treating trees to protect them from pine beetles. The workshop is for all landowners, whether they intend to do the work themselves or hire a company to complete the work.
The workshop will be hosted by the South Dakota Department of Agriculture, South Dakota Cooperative Extension Service and the U.S. Forest Service.
The workshop will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Crazy Horse Memorial near Custer.
The workshop will demonstrate spraying techniques, provide information and answer questions. Representatives from spray companies also will be on hand to discuss their services.
