Dakota Rural Action and the Clean Water Alliance will sponsor a public meeting Dec. 13 in Rapid City on the proposal to mine uranium near Edgemont.

The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. in the first-floor community room of the City/School Administration Center, 300 6th St. Environmental and legal specialists will discuss the permit applications by Powertech Uranium Corp., a Canadian-based corporation with offices in Colorado and South Dakota, to use an injection-extraction well system to mine uranium.
