A father of five children told a judge that he is not the man accused of trying to rob two people outside the Dakotah Steakhouse Friday afternoon.

The victims were reportedly waiting for their shift to begin when Chad Dubray, 27, allegedly climbed into the backseat of their car and demanded money, police spokeswoman Tarah Heupel said.

"He told them to give him everything they had," Heupel said. Dubray, police said, threatened both men that he would kill them if they did not comply with his directions.

A witness at the scene identified Dubray who was arrested later at his home, Heupel said.

Dubray denied both charges when he made his initial court appearance Monday morning from the Pennington County Jail. He claimed he did not know the victims. He said he has five children and is working two jobs to support his family. Magistrate Judge Shawn Pahlke set Dubray's bond at $20,000.
