Fire investigators have not determined a cause for a small grass fire that produced 6-foot flames when it burned less than a half-acre in Rapid City on Thursday.

The blaze, which was spotted at 8:36 p.m., advanced quickly up a grassy hillside between South Street and Hillcrest Drive.

The fire did not threaten any structures, and there were no injuries, according to the Rapid City Fire Department.
