A 23-year-old Rapid City man who used a BB gun to rob an East North Street gas station last December was sentenced Tuesday to 15 years in prison.
Pennington County Deputy State’s Attorney Ryan Ryder told 7th Circuit Judge Wally Eklund that Ryan Reub, who had five years of his sentence suspended, had cooperated with the investigation into the fatal shooting at the South Dakota Rose Inn in January.
Charles Birdshead was arraigned in that death, of Eustacio Maruffo, a few hours later in Eklund’s courtroom.
Reub and co-defendant Max Imberi, 18, of Rapid City were linked to three robberies committed in December. Along with the Big D station at 850 E. North St., the Little Caesars at 2120 W. Main St. and Red E Cash at 315 E. St. Patrick St. were robbed Dec. 19.
When he pleaded guilty, Reub told Eklund that he had robbed the businesses to buy drugs.
Imberi is scheduled to change his plea next month, according to Ryder.
