The Outdoor Campus West in Rapid City will celebrate Bald Eagle Awareness Week today by offering visitors a personal experience with birds of prey.

There will be hands-on stations for visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the campus, just off Sturgis Road near the Hills Materials Co. quarry in northwest Rapid City. And at 2 p.m., the Black Hills Raptor Center will offer a public presentation with live birds prey.

There also will be activities at the Outdoor Campus East in Sioux Falls, and educators from the Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota will feature live birds of prey in programs at the Best Western Ramkota RiverCenter Hotel in Pierre.
