The YMCA Winter 2 Program session begins Feb. 25. Registration is currently in progress for YMCA members. Community participants may begin to register Monday, Feb. 18.

Here is the list of classes and events:

R U Game: A special event just for teens Feb. 29.This carnival-style event is based on videos and technology. $5 entry plus concessions.

YMCA Family Time

Friday night: Family swim in family pool, 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.; family swim in eight-lane pool, 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.; family gym in Rapid City Gym, 6:30 p.m. - 10 p.m.; family arts and science time, 3 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Sunday afternoon: Family swim in family pool, 12 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.; family gym in Rapid City Gym and South Gym, 12:05 p.m. - 5:55 p.m.

Child Watch nursery service: Free to members, 2-1/2 hours per day. For children 6 weeks old through completion of kindergarten while parents participate in Y classes and activities. Open Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., Friday 8-3:30 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Youth Center: Game room in lower level of YMCA offers a variety of games, activities and a safe environment. Open Monday through Friday 3 p.m. - 8 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Teen Center (across the street from North Middle School). Offers a variety of games and a great social environment. Open Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Star Village: Offers a place for youths to go after school and participate in enrichment activities. Open Monday through Friday 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Arts & Science Center

Storytime Art & Science: For pre-school age. Listen to a story and then experience hands-on art and science activities related to the story. Friday 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.

Fun in the Kitchen: Kids ages 8-12 will earn about food science in the kitchen. Monday 3:30 - 5 p.m.

Just Science: Children 6 to 8 years old will learn about light and color. Wednesday 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Innovate and Create: Free 15-30 minute science or art activity with paid admission to the Arts & Science Center on Tuesday nights. Limited to 12 participants. Tuesday 4 p.m. for ages 6-8 years and 4:30 p.m. for ages 9-12 years.

Cool Clay: Build artsy creatures and make an ice cream bowl. Monday 3:30 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Come Throw With Us: Kids, age 8 and up, will learn how to throw on the wheel. Tuesday 3:30 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Natural Arts: Youths will use natural resources to make art projects and learn science in the process. Thursday 4 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Realistic Drawing for Kids: Draw dogs, bunnies and people. Wednesday 4 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Adult Pottery: All skill levels may join us using the extruder, slab roller and the wheel. Thursday 4 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Youth Programs

Fit Kids: Kids 6 and 7 years old will meet for supervised cardiovascular activities. Monday and Wednesday 3:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Speed, Power and Ability: For middle school, high school and college athletes to enhance their speed, strength, endurance and flexibility. Tuesday and Thursday 4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Fit Youth: Youths 8 to 14 years of age will be involved with kid-sized cardio strength circuits, group games and fitness video games. They will learn about living a more balanced and healthier lifestyle. One-hour classes begin every 20 minutes. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 4 p.m. - 5 p.m., 4:20 p.m. - 5:20 p.m., 4:40 p.m. - 5:40 p.m. and 5 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Youth Fitness Center Open Time: In the Youth Wellness Center - Play the arcades and work out on cardio. Tuesday and Thursday 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Youth Karate: Instructor teaches the class under Master Instructor Joe Alvarez's supervision. Beginners: Tuesday and Thursday, 6 p.m. - 6:40 p.m. Advanced: Tuesday and Thursday, 6:45 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Jujitsu/Judo: Wednesday, 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Unicycle: Come try out unicycling and learn how to ride. Tuesdays 3 p.m. - 4:20 p.m.

Midnight Alternatives: For teens ages 12 to 18. Programs include basketball, music, hip-hop, tournaments and special activities with pizza served. Saturdays 8 p.m. - midnight.

Gymnastics

Parent/Child Gymnastics: Class offers parents and their children the chance to work together on balance and coordination. For tots 1 to 3 years old. Tuesday 12 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.; Thursday noon - 12:30 p.m.; Thursday 5:30 p.m. - 6 p.m.; and Saturday 10:30 a.m. - 11 a.m.

Pre-School Gymnastics: For children 3 to 5 years old. Program to help develop each child's coordination, balance, strength, flexibility and self-esteem. Tuesday and Thursday 11:15 a.m. - 12 p.m.; Wednesday 11:15 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Youth Sports

Racquetball Lessons: Learn the fundamentals - how to stretch and warm up, how to hit the ball properly, scoring and strategy. Monday 4 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Swimming

Parent-Child Swim: Water enrichment class for children ages 6 months to 3 years old, and parents. Class times: Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.; Saturday, 8:30 a.m. - 9 a.m.; 9 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

Pre-School Swim Lessons: Classes for children 3 to 5 years old to learn fundamentals of swimming and water safety.

Pike - Beginner, beginning swim lessons and water safety

Eels - Intermediate level, includes swim techniques and further personal safety

Pike/Eel - Combined class. Each student will be taught at his own level.

Rays/Starfish - Most advanced pre-school level

There are many options for swim lessons, which are 6-week-long sessions with either two-days-per-week or one-day-per-week classes. Please call for class times.

Youth Swim Lessons

Polliwog - For beginning swimmers, includes personal water safety and paddle stroke

Guppy - Introduces rotary breathing, front crawl and lifesaving skills.

Minnow - Continues to work on front crawl and back crawl

Fish - Introduced to breaststroke and backstroke

Flying Fish/Shark - Works on above strokes and swim laps to build endurance There are many options for swim lessons, which are 6-week-long sessions with either two-days-per-week or one-day-per-week classes. Please call for class times.

Porpoise - For students who have completed the Shark level. Students will be guided through various water/land activities including lap swimming, stroke improvement, pre-lifeguard skills, and first-aid skills

Adaptive Aquatics: This learn-to-swim program is for special-needs students. Call Frances for more information and to make an appointment.

Adult Swimming Lessons: For first-timers or for those who want to improve their skills. Monday 5:45 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Private Swim Lessons: Call Frances for available times and to register.

Adult Swimming Lessons: Experience water for the first time or improve your swimming ability. Monday 5:45 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Adult Stroke Improvement: This class is those that want to work on their lap swimming, improve their strokes, learn flip turns and have fun. Monday 6:30 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.

Volunteer for Special Olympics: The YMCA joins with Special Olympics and will be providing a space for aquatics practice sessions. If you are 13 or older and a swimmer of Shark or above level OR an adult, you can help. Contact Frances at frances@rcymca.org to sign up.

Home School

Fit Youth: Tuesday and Thursday 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.

Youth Science Builders: Tuesday 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Just Science Class: Wednesday 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Pottery-Ancient Clay: Wednesday 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Swim Lessons: Classes are held in the late mornings for Pike/Eel, Polliwog/Guppy and Minnow/Fish. Call for times.

Adult Programs

Xpress Fitness Zone: Get a complete workout in 30 minutes. Our circuit includes weighted strength machines and includes a full-body workout with cardiovascular segments.

Fitness Assessment and Test Battery: Includes height, weight, resting blood pressure and resting heart rate, body-composition profile, body-fat percentage, physical work capacity and cardiac output, flexibility and muscle strength and endurance. Free to YMCA members.

Adult Karate: Beginners/Intermediate: Tuesday and Thursday, 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9:45 a.m. - noon; Advanced: Tuesday and Thursday, 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9:45 a.m. - noon. Jujitsu/Judo: Wednesday, 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

Personal Training: Available on Saturdays 10:30 a.m. - noon as well as Monday through Friday 5 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Group Exercise

Adult Aquatics

Early Birds: Total-body workout including aerobics and overall muscle training Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. - 7 a.m.

Aqua Rock: Total body workout includes aerobics and overall muscle training. Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.; Monday and Wednesday 6:45 p.m. - 7:45 p.m.

Women's Exercise: Morning water exercise class includes stretching and aerobics. Monday - Friday, 8:45 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.

Water Lillies & Bullfrogs: Energizing workout done in deep water. Monday through Friday, 9:45 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.

Young at Heart: For active older adults. Meets Monday through Friday, 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.

Happy Hour: Includes walking and stretching to get a well-rounded workout. Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

AFYAP Program/Joint Efforts Arthritis: AFYAP consists of range-of-motion, muscle-strengthening and endurance-building activities. Step Up is slightly more vigorous than the AFYAP program and is the last half of the hour-long classes. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:45 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.

Aerobics - New Group Exercise Studio

Boot Camp: Tuesday 6 a.m. - 7:15 a.m.; Saturday 7:15 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.; Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8:15 a.m. - 9:25 a.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

New York City Ballet Workout: Monday 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

Sports Yoga: Thursday 6:15 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

Intro to Step: Brand new to step? Come at 8:15 a.m. before joining the regular Step & Sculpt at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Step & Sculpt: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 9:15 a.m.

Ab Attack: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:15 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.; Monday and Wednesday 10:15 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.; Monday through Thursday 5:15 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.; and Tuesday and Thursday 5:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Family and Active Older Adults

Ladies 18 & Up: Meet others, socialize and learn about a variety of topics; meet the first Thursday of each month at the YMCA.

AOA Monthly Meetings: Active Older Adults meet every fourth Thursday. They plan to go to productions at the Dahl Arts Center

Bunco: Meet at the LaCroix Links Golf Course clubhouse for a fun, easy dice game. Register at YMCA desk.

Adult Sports

Adult Beginner Racquetball: Learn the basics of racquetball. Saturday, April 5, 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.

Rollout Racquetball Tournament: March 26 through 29. Register by March 23.

Adult Noon Basketball: Free for members only every day 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.
