Woman faces felony charge for allegedly stabbing ex-husband with scissors

Bond was set at $25,000 Tuesday for a woman accused of stabbing her ex-husband several times in the back with a pair of scissors.

Edwina Winkler, 50, is charged with domestic violence aggravated assault, a felony carrying a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.

Winkler also is charged with violating a court order prohibiting contact with the man, a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and a $2,000 fine.

Winkler was arrested Monday afternoon after her alleged victim fled an apartment on Haines Avenue. Arriving Rapid City police officers found him lying in the street.

The victim was treated at Rapid City Regional Hospital and released.
