Ronald Shape is the new chief executive officer of the National American University system, overseeing the 17 campuses and the central administrative offices in Rapid City.
He previously had been the chief financial officer and chief operating officer. He has held various administrative posts at the privately-operated school since 1992.
Jerry Gallentine, who had served as CEO, will continue as president of the school, overseeing academic accreditation and board governance activities, according to a news release.
The board of governors in late April approved the change, recommended by Gallentine.
