On Christmas Eve, the Rapid City Swim Center is spreading a little holiday cheer and helping a good cause.

To thank the community for a great year, the center is offering a free swim in exchange for two cans of food from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, during open swim time.

The center will close at 4 p.m. and reopen on Wednesday, Dec. 26.

The swim center will keep its normal operating hours through Sunday, Dec. 30.

On Monday, Dec. 31, and Tuesday, Jan. 1, the center will open for lap and exercise swimming at 5:30 a.m. Open swim hours on both days will, however, be shortened, with the pool closing at 4 p.m.

Normal scheduling will resume on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
