Regional meetings in Mobridge and Dupree later this month will discuss the South Dakota Beef Quality Assurance Program.

Veterinarians and South Dakota Cooperation Extension Service officials will review medications, herd quality audits and program goals for the next two years.

"Monitoring the total management picture, from pasture to plate, continues to grow in importance," Extension educator Maurice Lemke said in a news release. "These meetings will give us a chance to address record-keeping methods and biosecurity, along with many other topics."

The Mobridge event begins at 6:30 p.m. CDT Monday, Sept. 22, at the Dacotah Bank community room, 320 N. Main St. The Tuesday, Sept. 23 event in Dupree begins at 1:30 p.m. at Harry's Hall on Main Street.

The Oahe Veterinary Clinic, the Faith Veterinary Service and the South Dakota Cattlemen's Association are co-sponsors.

For a three-year program subscription, newcomers will pay $25, which includes training materials. Renewing members pay $10.

For more information about the program, go to www.sdbqa.com or e-mail bqa@sdcattlemen.org.
