Flood advisories and warnings will be in place today in some western South Dakota areas and through Saturday in others.
A small-stream flood advisory will be in place for Harding County and Butte County until 3 p.m. Saturday.
Widespread rain of between a half-inch and 1-1/2 inches expected through today, combined with melting snow, will keep river levels elevated with minor flooding along streams in these counties. More rain showers are forecast for Friday night and Saturday.
The weather service advised against crossing bridges or low-lying spots covered by water.
Also:
A flood warning for the Little Missouri River at Camp Crook will be in effect until Saturday morning.
A flood warning for northern Lawrence County, extreme southwest Butte County, extreme west central Mead County and extreme east central Crook County will be in place until Friday afternoon.
A flood advisory for central Butte County, northern Butte County, southern Harding County and southwestern Perkins County is in effect until Friday morning.
