Forest Service crews will conduct a pair of prescribed burns today and Thursday on Black Hills National Forest land.
The two-day, 114-acre Thumb Prescribed Burn is scheduled for north of Moon Campground, about 3 miles east of the Wyoming state line.
The 671-acre Martin Prescribed Burn is about 8 miles south of Jewel Cave and 13 miles west of Pringle.
The primary objective of both burns is to enhance forest health and reduce fuels for possible wildfires.
