WHITEWOOD - An armed standoff in the Black Hills has ended in the arrest of a 47-year-old man.

Authorities say Albert Rankin of Whitewood fired several shots Sunday from a second-story window of an apartment building.

Police were kept at bay for four hours before finally taking Rankin into custody.

No one was injured, but a pickup in a parking lot sustained several bullet holes.
