The annual Cowboy Poet Festival at Devils Tower National Monument will feature four rancher poets, including Minnesota's Cowgirl Poet.
The event, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, will close this summer's Cultural Program Series at Devils Tower.
Visitors, including residents in the region, are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch to hear the poets at the memorial's picnic shelter. They include:
* Robert Dennis, a rancher from western South Dakota, who blends music and stories to relatethe life of cowboys and ranching.
* Dianne Tribitt, Minnesota's Cowgirl Poet, a rancher from Hillman, Minn., bases her poems on her life as a rancher, grain-bin construction crew boss and rodeo events secretary.
* Ken Cook, a rancher from southeast Bennett County, writes in diverse styles including humorous, practical and emotional.
* Paul Larson has been on horseback and swinging a rope for most of his life. His music includes old classics, newer cowboy and Western songs and some of his own tunes.
Starting Monday, Sept. 1, the memorial's visitor center hours will change to 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
