The South Dakota Highway Patrol has scheduled sobriety checkpoints for the month of February in these counties: Bennett, Brown, Charles Mix, Clark, Codington, Custer, Faulk, Gregory, Hyde, Lincoln, Lake, Meade, Minnehaha, Pennington and Union.

In addition to detecting alcohol- or drug-impaired drivers, the patrol uses sobriety checkpoints to remind the public of the dangers of drinking and driving.
