Rapid City woman named to advocacy board

Rapid City attorney Lisa Kiser was recently elected chairwoman of South Dakota Advocacy Services' Protection and Advisory Council for Individuals with Mental Illness.

Kiser, who is a managing attorney for Dakota Plains Legal Services, will also serve on the advocacy services' governing board.

Also elected to the governing board were Julie Yellow Cloud of Porcupine, Patty Riibe of Yankton and Vikki Day of Highmore. They will serve three-year terms.

A state-designated protection agency, South Dakota Advocacy Services is a nonprofit agency that provides legal and administrative assistance to individuals with disabilities. It has offices in Pierre, Sioux Falls, Rapid City and Yankton.
