'Camo Camp' to teach kids about military, Iraqi families

A new program from the South Dakota Extension Service, "Operation Military Kids Camo Camp," will offer youths the opportunity to learn about military families in South Dakota as well as Iraqi families.

Camo Camp will stop at more than 10 county fairs, 4-H Achievement Days, and the South Dakota State Fair, including the follow dates and locations:

* Aug. 10, Custer/Shannon/Pine Ridge County Fair, Hermosa, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

* Aug. 14, Butte/Lawrence County Fair, Nisland, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

* Aug. 15, Hughes/Stanley County Fair, Fort Pierre, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

* Aug. 16, Hutchinson County Fair, Tripp, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

* Aug. 21, Pennington County and Central States Fair, Rapid City, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
