State regulators will preview proposed changes to quality standards for surface water during an electronic meeting Wednesday, Sept. 24.

The 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. informational meeting will be held at Digital Dakota Network sites in Bison, Rapid City and Spearfish in western South Dakota.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources is looking at updating regulations in accordance to federal Clean Water Act requirements.

DENR plans to publish newspaper notices about the proposed changes in late October, accept feedback during the 45-day public comment period, then hold a public hearing before the Board of Water Management on Dec. 10 in Pierre.

The regional network sites include the Perkins County Courthouse in Bison, the E.Y. Berry Library Room 11 at Black Hills State University and state Department of Human Services in Times Square Plaza, 111-A New York St., in Rapid City.
