Riders are set to pedal from Edgemont to Deadwood for the 11th annual Mickelson Trail Trek, the three-day supported ride over the gravel recreational path through the Black Hills. Check-in is from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Custer Area Chamber of Commerce. The trek runs Friday through Sunday, Sept. 19-21.

According to officials, last year's ride attracted a record 545 bicyclists, 21 returning for their 10th trek.

The $175 fee includes a trail pass, shuttle service, refreshments, some meals during each day's ride and a commemorative souvenir if supplies last. Riders are responsible for accommodations and mechanical support. The ride is open to all bicyclists 14 years of age or older.

To register or for more information, go to www.mickelsontrail.com or call the Black Hills Trails office at 584-3896.
